A KNOT THAT TIES TOGETHER THE PROMOTION OF ITALIAN TOURISM WITH ONE OF THE MOST RECEPTIVE MARKETS WORLDWIDE: THE CHINESE MARKET

We wish to expand Italy’s opportunities to be efficiently visible in China by creating a link between one of the largest tourist destinations of the world and one of the countries with the highest economic expansion rate worldwide. Over one hundred million Chinese tourists spend, each year, more than 200 billion dollars abroad. The European destinations have strengthened this position and, in 2015 alone, 10 million tourists travelled to Europe; that is 13% of all outbound Chinese tourism. Each year, around one million seven hundred thousand Chinese go to Italy. SILKNOT intends to tie the “knot” to tightly connect, in a constructive manner, the supply rate to the rapidly expanding demand rate. To inspire our business’s vision we have chosen a name that recalls the timeless SILK ROAD, which linked China to the Mediterranean Basin for almost two thousand years. Indeed, our goal was to bring China closer to Italy by fixing their meeting point, through which they both have much to gain.
